Aubrey and Bread

We have made a startling discovery this year. We have found that the best way to insure Nate's grades are the best possible is to give him a diversion to focus on every once-in-a-while. For a time we were seriously contemplating giving all of this science up for a focus on his talents and passion, animation. After some review of financial matters in the world of animation we discovered that we would insure a life in the bottom pay scale for the rest of our lives; needless to say we rethought that idea and found that his desire to help people with medicine is a great outlet for his smarts and service side, and that animation could make an enjoyable hobby for the future.

We discovered recently that using a little bit of time each week to draw, design, and imagine has helped his studies improve in other subjects. In the first semester of Organic Chemistry he got an A, something he learned to value after getting a C- the first time he attempted the class. Now he's on his way to a successful ending to spring semester, probably not with flying A's this time though but we hope close.

Aubrey is enjoying her classes but learning that just studying alone does not bring happiness or success. She is finding things she's good at to find out just what makes her amazing. She is designing the coolest African animal costumes for a ballet performance this spring, making some amazing bread, and learning how to make every Tuesday a fun adventure for Jackson, our little nephew. This spring has been filled with fun and required a lot of hard work, quite an enjoyable combination in hindsight. We are loving life one delicious loaf of bread at a time.
